Limonene-1,2-epoxide hydrolase from Rhodococcus erythropolis DCL14 belongs to a novel class of epoxide hydrolases.
An epoxide hydrolase from Rhodococcus erythropolis DCL14 catalyzes the hydrolysis of limonene-1,2-epoxide to limonene-1,2-diol. The enzyme is induced when R. erythropolis is grown on monoterpenes, reflecting its role in the limonene degradation pathway of this microorganism. Limonene-1,2-epoxide hydrolase was purified to homogeneity. It is a monomeric cytoplasmic enzyme of 17 kDa, and its N-ter...
متن کاملHydroformylation of 1-Hexene over Rh/Nano-Oxide Catalysts
The effect of nanostructured supports on the activity of Rh catalysts was studied by comparing the catalytic performance of nanoand bulk-oxide supported Rh/ZnO, Rh/SiO2 and Rh/TiO2 systems in 1-hexene hydroformylation. The highest activity with 100% total conversion and 96% yield of aldehydes was obtained with the Rh/nano-ZnO catalyst. The Rh/nano-ZnO catalyst was found to be more stable and ac...
متن کاملTotal synthesis of capsanthin using lewis acid-promoted regio- and stereoselective rearrangement of tetrasubstituted epoxide.
The synthesis of capsanthin 1 was accomplished via the C15-cyclopentyl ketone 13 prepared by Lewis acid-promoted regio- and stereoselective rearrangement of the epoxide 12.
متن کاملA bimetallic iron(III) catalyst for CO2/epoxide coupling.
A novel di-iron(III) catalyst for the copolymerisation of cyclohexene oxide and CO(2) to yield poly(cyclohexene carbonate), under mild conditions, is reported. The catalyst selectivity was completely changed on addition of an ammonium co-catalyst to yield only the cis-isomer of the cyclic carbonate, also under mild conditions. Additionally, the catalyst was active for propylene carbonate and st...
متن کاملFeSO4 Amendments Stimulate Extensive Anaerobic PCB Dechlorination
Anaerobic microbial reductive dechlorination of PCBs is important because it removes the chlorine substituents that block aerobic metabolism and it reduces PCB toxicity. Although this process occurs widely in nature, its extent is often limited to dechlorination of some of the chlorines in the meta positions of biphenyl. In this report we demonstrate the ability to achieve nearly complete meta ...
